Every week, scores of volunteers band together to sort donated food into food boxes that will provide at least 12 meals for a family of four. The food boxes are then delivered by volunteers to needy families and homebound senior citizens. Last year (2005) the City Mission provided 00,000 food box meals to the poor and needy.
"I ate today because of you."
"Without the City Mission I wouldn't have anything to eat."
Very often the first step towards a new life for a homeless person is a hot meal. That’s why the City Mission serves approximately thousands of meals each year. Each weekday morning breakfast is provided for all who are hungry. Sack lunches are provided for lunch. Special holiday outreach meals are served on a monthly basis. Food boxes are distributed to poor families each week. Jesus said, “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
